In honor of Biggie’s birthday yesterday, The Melker Project released a snippet from his half-hour Mini Mix (also seen below). The snippet features The Notorious B.I.G. from Notorious Thugs/Spit Your Game and Baauer’s remix of the Flosstradamus smash hit “Rollup.” Are you confused yet? No need to be, just hit play and enjoy this great trap tribute to The Notorious B.I.G.
Yesterday The Melker Project also released his Mini Mix that he created for the popular and rugged watch company G-Shock. You can grab the free download by liking G-Shock’s Facebook page. Enjoy
Typically when Deadmau5 releases a new track from his Soundcloud account (fuckmylife) we only get a snippet of something he has been working on. Sometimes the snippets he release are just throwaway tracks to share with his fans but nonetheless we have not one sound, or two, but three new track that he released over the past 24 hours.
First up we have “Killthemau5″, which is his latest release. This is a collaboration with Mau5trap records artist Kill The Noise where the two have been passing a beat back and forth with one another and building on it separately. This is definitely more complex and textured when compared to other material by Deadmau5 but I am truly loving the concept and progress so far and hope it turns into an actual release someday.
Next up we have what Deadmau5 calls “Monophobic“. This features a dance-like beat up until we are hit with a heavy distorted melody. Nothing much else to say about this release since he calls this Todays Randomness, so chances are he will just throw this one out and start anew tomorrow.
“Suite 03″ was released yesterday and managed to drum up a lot of attention within the blogosphere. This particular track is something I could see on one of his albums as it coincides with the type of music we have come to associate Deadmau5 to. Perfect for an introduction to one of his upcoming tracks, the building melody does such a great job freezing you in total tranquility sure to engage you into what is to come next. I am sure there’s something after the abrupt end of this song but we will just have to wait for the release to what he is for now calling “Suite 03″
Annapolis, MD rapper Tray Jack is an up-and-coming artist you need to know about and his new track “Hands Up” is an excellent summertime song to have on your playlists in the coming weeks. On this track Tray samples “Your Girl” from the London based producer Tourist, where he gives us a fresh and uplifting take to the instrumental. Grab the free download and be sure to keep an eye out for more music by Tray Jack. Enjoy
We first came across Seven Lions new track “Fevers” when it was originally released through Skrillex’s label OSWLA, but back then we did not have the free download. That is until now. The Southern California native teamed up with fellow producer Christian Bauhofer or better known as Minnesota to create a dazzling yet submerged dubstep track that truly brings forth the beautiful vocals provided by Mimi Page. For all you dubstep fans out there this track should not go unnoticed so grab the free download and lose yourself in total symphonic bliss.
Whenever we get a message from Drew and Alex of The Chainsmokers we instantly think to ourselves: 1. This email will be hilarious (as they have an uncharacteristic sense of humor) and 2. The music they just sent us will be top-notch and epic sound to our ears. Well we were right about both, and their remix to Say Lou Lou’s “Julian” brings total joy even through my 10th time listening to it.
The guys wanted to focus on delivering an upbeat summer anthem all the while sticking to Say Lou Lou’s renegade yet soft vocals. The end result is amazingly beautiful and absolutely worth the free download below. I’m enjoying this new direction The Chainsmokers have been moving in lately sticking to a more serious sound than just party anthem remixes. Bravo guys!

Nothing like a 9 minute melody by PIGEON to Daft Punk’s greatest hits to get you excited for the release of Random Access Memories. The guys wanted to take all Daft Punk enthusiasts through a nostalgic journey covering 6 songs in just 9 minutes. In this melody you can expect to hear PIGEON’s versions to “One More Time”, “Around the World”, “Da Funk”, Robot Rock”, “Aerodynamic”, and “Harder Better Faster Stronger”.
What truly amazes me is how closely they get to sounding like the original music. If you listen to just the audio below you may think someone did a great job editing all studio recordings by Daft Punk, but if you watch the video (which we highly suggest you do) you have proof that these guys are legit and true Daft Punk fans. Enjoy!
The LA based band Smallpools is gaining steam and fast. A few hours ago I spotted these guys at 50 on Hypem and at the time of writing this they skyrocketed to 21. Their debut song “Dreaming” is fresh, catchy and uplifting and even though we typically shy away from this genre of music, there is no doubt most of you will enjoy this. Grab the download and jump on the Smallpools bandwagon before everyone else quickly discovers them. Enjoy!
